About The 2023 Alumni Mentoring Workshop Application

Alumni Mentoring Workshop 2023 for FLEX and YES alumni will soon be accepting applications for mentors and mentees. This is a five-week-long mentoring and networking opportunity where alumni participants will be matched with a mentor or mentee according to their interests, needs, and specialization areas, attend an online workshop with a professional trainer, and networking meetings.

Mentors and mentees will meet virtually each week and all participants will have the opportunity to take part in two or more virtual events. American Councils is working with MIUSA to meet accommodations requests, including ASL interpretation and captions, an accessible (screen-reader friendly) copy of the presentations and materials, or other types of accommodations. Please describe any other accommodations you may need in the comment box in the application.

The mentoring program gives alumni the opportunity to learn from each other and share advice and experience. Participants can then apply what they've learned to real-world situations like university studies, job applications, and the workplace.

Program Requirements

Participants will be committing to up to 3.5 hours per week for the duration of five weeks, starting from February 6th, 2023, through March 12th, 2023. Time commitment includes the following components:

  • 2 hours for workshops on Saturdays
  • 1 hour for a one-on-one meeting with mentor/mentee at any time convenient to both parties
  • 30 minutes for self-reflection and feedback survey
