Chief Justice Roberts and Sandra Day O'Connor meet with Ukrainian Constitutional Court Judges

In November 2011, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor met with Judges Mariia Markush, Petro Stetsiuk, and Serhii Vdovichenko, from the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, during their trip to Washington, D.C. on the Open World Program. The Open Word Program is a U.S. congressionally-funded initiative whose Rule of Law component seeks to strengthen relationships between the U.S. judiciary and the judiciaries of Ukraine, Russia, and other Eurasian countries. American Councils for International Education oversees logistics for the Open World Program.

American Councils Holds Talks with Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Education and Senior Higher Education Delegation

From December 9-10, 2011, Dr. Dan Davidson, President of American Councils for International Education, met with Yevgen Sulima, the Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Youth, and Sports, to discuss the role of standardized testing in university admissions in Ukraine. First Deputy Sulima and a delegation of Ukrainian government officials visited the American Councils Washington, D.C. office during a U.S. State Department-funded International Visitor Leadership Program trip to the U.S.

Milner and Durov named start-ups that have received private funding

In early December, the founder of investment group DST Yuri Milner and founder of the social network VKontakte Pavel Durov announced the launch of the Start Fellows project to support young Russian developers.
